What happens to my portfolio when I pay for something?
When payments are made, shares of your portfolio (so called
fractional shares) are automatically sold that correspond as
closely as possible to the amount of the card payment. It is not
necessary to select individual ETFs beforehand, which would cause
an imbalance in your portfolio, but we sell all ETFs in your
portfolio in the same amount.
Because capital market transactions can only be made on business
days and UnitPlus is concerned with the most cost-efficient
execution of orders for the benefit of its users, the use of the
UnitPlus card results in “pending transactions” (similar to your
online banking). In this case, the card payment has already been
made, but the corresponding order on the capital market has not
yet been executed. The partial sale of the portfolio takes place
on weekdays at fixed times. The remaining part of the fractional
share is reinvested in your portfolio.
