Complete transparency on current and historical interest rates on
corporate overnight deposit accounts. Our index shows for the
first time the average overnight deposit interest rates for
businesses over the past 20 years. This allows for better
assessment and comparison of current interest rate offers.
Together with Barkow Consulting, a leading financial consulting
and analysis firm, we have developed this index specifically for
businesses. This provides full transparency and insight into
current overnight deposit interest rates for the first time.
Interest rates for businesses have been declining since January 2024:

The UnitPlus Overnight Deposit Index for Businesses shows that many banks have only partially passed on interest rate hikes to businesses. Moreover, the index indicates that interest rates have been declining since January, even though the ECB only lowered the key interest rate in June.

Long-term Development
In the long-term view of corporate overnight deposit interest rates, it is noticeable that banks have only partially passed on the interest rate increase since 2022 to businesses. This contrasts with the high-interest period between 2006 and 2008 when overnight deposit interest rates were still at a similar level to the ECB’s key interest rate.
