A securities deposit is an account for investors through which
securities can be bought, sold, and managed. A securities account
can usually contain various securities such as shares, ETFs, bonds,
funds, derivatives, and certificates.
Securities deposits can be opened online with various providers, including UnitPlus. It is important to note that the securities in the custody account always remain the customer’s property. They are not part of the financial institution’s assets and are therefore protected even if they become insolvent.
