The basic tax-free amount is a tax-free amount that reduces taxable income. It is adjusted annually and ensures every citizen can keep a certain amount tax-free to secure the minimum subsistence level. In 2022, the basic tax-free amount will be 10,347 euros for singles and 20,694 euros for married couples or registered civil partnerships.
